How to Make Your Perfume & Fragrance Last Longer

Sexual Perfume is one of the nicest indulgences you can give yourself.  Spritz and you automatically feel sexier, prettier, and so feminine.  It's confidence and glam in one little bottle.  With its high concentration of natural oils, this gorgeous perfume lasts longer than most.  But what if you still want some extra time to smell and feel glamourous?  How do you make your perfume and the great feelings it gives you, last longer?

Here are my expert tips to make your fragrance last:

1.  Spritz where you naturally feel warm on your skin.  Most women know that their wrists are a great place to start ... but be creative and think outside the box for even more great places to wear your Sexual.  Some of Michel's recommendations:
  • behind your sexy little knees
  • a dab behind your ears
  • inner thighs is an over-the-top sexy location that's warm, warm, warm (perfect!)
  • around your seductive belly button
  • your cleavage, close to the warmth of your heart
  • your inner elbows
  • the small of your feminine back
Obviously you don't want to wear perfume in all of these locations at once.  Choose two locations at first and find out what works for you.  Switch it up on different days just for fun.

2.  Layer your perfume with its matching body lotion.  The oils and moisture in the body lotion keep the perfume oils from drying out over time.  One caveat:  make sure it's made with the matching scent ... any other lotion will change the scent in your perfume (yes, even "scent-free" body and hand lotions).

3.  Know what type of skin you have.  Perfume lasts longer on women with oily skin, while women with dry skin need more perfume to have the same effect.  If you have oily skin, your natural oils do the same thing as perfume's matching body lotion -- keep your perfume hydrated and emanating its beauty. If you have dry skin, you don't have enough oils to keep your perfume fragrant all day.

Instead, know that you will have to carry a purse spray and spritz it up once or twice more during your day.  Just make sure  that when you do layer on more perfume, stick to a couple of spritzes.  You still want a soft, even scent.  Plus, remember, the fragrance you put on in the morning is still there, just a little less noticeable.  How do you know you have the perfect amount of fragrance on?  You should be able to smell your perfume in soft, even, occasional whiffs.

How to Buy, Wear, and Store Cologne. A Guide for Real Men.

(Cologne is an instant charmer.  It says, "I have style and the confidence you are looking for in a man."  Studies show that men who wear cologne not only get the girl, but they get the salary increase.  The following article is written for real men.  If you know of any real men who are struggling with this issue or would like a refresher course on how to buy a fragrance that is perfect for them, please forward this article on to them.  They will thank you for it.)

O.k., I know, buying cologne is the furthest thing from your mind right now.  You've dismissed wearing anything beyond a drugstore aftershave (if you put on any scent at all).  Buying aftershave is quick and dirty.  You walk over to the drugstore aisle labelled "personal hygiene", zoom in on a forest green or brown bottle, walk up to the cashier, and leave with a bag that looks as if it's holding something any real man uses (razors, condoms, gum).  After all, walking into a department store's fragrance section is about as manly as walking into a flower shop to buy a bouquet for your man-pad.

Oh, you may be cute, but you are so naive.

Romantic Valentine's Dates That Will Make Her Yours

You've made it past the first date -- way past.  You took her to the best restaurants, the funniest movies, and every martini bar within the city limits.  Now Valentine's is just around the corner and you are scrambling, wondering what  you can do to that is a little more interesting, a little more fun, and can bond you together in more ways than one.

These three sexy Valentine's dates are bound to wow her and are guaranteed to make sparks fly:

Book a chef.  Track down a gourmet chef in your area that will come to your home and offer to teach the two of you to cook a romantic, scrumptious meal.  This date idea will set you apart from anyone else she has ever dated.  It's fun, it's inventive, and you bet she will never have done it with any other guy.

Source a take-home-chef at one of your favorite restaurants (not every restaurant offers these services, but they may give you a referral); on the internet; or gourmet cooking stores.

Here are two websites to start your search.  This site will help find a personal chef in your area:  www.personalchef.com  .  This next site will give you an example of what a personal chef can do for you www.thechefinstead.ca .

Book a day at the spa.  Don't be intimidated ... go for it!  Spas aren't just for women anymore.  Spas offer services for men and couples that are often underused. That makes it perfect because it's another opportunity for you to stand out from the crowd.

What is more romantic than a body-relaxing couple's massage, a long dip in a warm hydrotherapy bath together while sipping on a glass of sparkling champagne?  Top it off with a limousine ride home so you don't have to worry about drinking and driving and you're in heaven.

One of my favorite spa dates?  The "Escape a Deux":  http://www.setaiclubnewyork.com/special-offers/ .  It's pricey, but then again, it's in New York.  Most spas offer similar services without the New York price tag.

Create your own "Chef and Spa" date:  Cook her a meal at your place.  Pick an easy recipe, practice making it once or twice, and invite her over Valentine's for dinner.
Ultra-flirtatious & sexy, Sexual Secret's silky oil warms on contact & creates a heated passion.
Top it off with a massage.  It's really not that hard to master.  Sexual Secret Massage Oil ($19 for 100ml) tempts and teases with aphrodisiacs so alluring, she'll melt to your every wish and never let you go.  ( www.michelgermain.com  Look under "body care")  Warm it in the palm of your hands, and start rubbing.  Use slow, relaxing circular motions.  Practice doing this once or twice on your leg, so you gain confidence and skill.

She will love you for the thought and time you have put into making this her special day.  And as far as standing out from the crowd, she would be a fool to let you go after you take her on one of these  Valentine's dates, because 20 more women would be lined up to take her place once the word got out.

Flirting Body Language That Makes You Irresistible

The festive season is fast approaching and you’re ready for a night out with your single friends.  You’re feeling good.   You’re hair flows with body, your fragrance says, “I’m sexylicious” and your outfit flatters your figure.  But you still wonder what else you could do to attract that hot guy.  Here are some strategies that will lure him in:
When with your friends, avoid standing in a closed circle.  Looking super engrossed in your conversation sends the message “Keep away.  I’m not interested.”  Keep your shoulders opened outwards towards the crowd.  Look at your friends, but don’t forget to occasionally check out the crowd.  These physical signs send the message that you’re okay with being approached and that anyone wishing to start a conversation with you is welcome.
Keep yourself positioned near the center of the room.  You will get more exposure and look like you enjoy being approached and with people.  Standing near the exit gives you exposure to those guys that are leaving.  Those are the guys that won’t take the time to talk to you if their friends are coaxing them to move on to the next party location.
Don’t look super involved with your drink.  You will look nervous and insecure.  Instead, in between drinks, use your hands and relaxed body gestures, when talking to your friend.  It shows your confident, relaxed, have energy.  In short, it makes you have flirt appeal.
When sitting down, dangle your shoe off your toes, and slowly cross your legs.  These gestures look irresistibly inviting, flirty, and seductive.  You’re also saying: “I’m here to stay for a while.”  And that means he’s going to feel comfortable approaching you because you’re unlikely to leave in a hurry if he heads your way.
Smile, smile, smile.  Smiling is flirty.  It makes you look ultra-friendly. That means he’ll approaching you easily, because even if he is not your type, you would let him down politely and easily.  Smiling also makes him feel like you would be easy to start a conversation with and that even if he stumbles, you’d be happy to pick up the line.

Michel Germain: An Exclusive Look Inside of His Life

Guatemalan Women Heading to Market

I have been inundatedwith requests to write about Michel Germain, the creator of Sexual perfumes.  I would love to divulge every detail, but alas, he is an extremely private man.

How do many people describe him? Wonderfully fair, debonair, and kind.  He is just like any other man ... with the addition of some notable characteristics of course.  He has a passion for fragrance, flowers, romance, style, and loves people (just ask his neighbours/friends).

His most notable character trait:  creativity.  He designs and creates not only his fragrances, but everything related to his fragrances, including their packaging.

His approach is hands-on.  For his latest creation, Sexual Sugar, he designed a carton that has real silver crystallized in layers of glass-like lacquer.  It was a labour intensive, 16-step process (unheard of in the fragrance industry).  Now Sexual Sugar has the most sophisticated, prettiest carton worldwide.

His flair for designing fragrances was born when he created Sexual for myself, his wife, Norma.  When we fell in love and married, he realized I rarely wore fragrance.  I would only wear a fragrance that made me feel beautiful and sexy.  I had not found that feeling in a perfume.  He was determined to give me a fragrance that would inspire these feelings.

As a result, he researched aphrodisiacs and essential oils for years, hoping to create the perfect blend that was both beautiful and sexy.  He says he had some of the best experiences travelling to Italy; Grasse, France; and exotic locations around the world discovering the rare essential oils and aphrodisiacs that make up his fragrances today.  Now every fragrance he blends is overflowing with his signature aphrodisiacs.

Where did he get this need to create?  Growing up he was, and still is, surrounded by style and talent.  His French Canadian mother was cultured and full of wit, yet loved every one who had a kind heart.  She was a culinary maven and loved to cook for anyone who dropped by (even if unannounced just before a meal -- a testament to her boundless patience).

Germain states that the aromas from her delicious cooking, delectably sweet desserts, and fruit jams still motivate him to create addictive gourmand fragrances or fresh, fruit-inspired blends.

Another one of his realtives is a prolific painter and avid gardener.  Some of her paintings are noted here.  As you can see, her paintings combine her two passions.

Not to be left out, younger members of his family are carrying on the creative tradition.  Featured here is one of their paintings entitled, "The Lake".

Germain's own creativity came from ... who knows exactly where, but he is loving every minute of expressing it through his art -- creating fragrances.

I am leaving you with a peak at the art some of his family members have painted or owned.  Enjoy.

Sexy Bombshell Eyelashes - Without the Falsies

False eyelashes are fun, but you can rev up your lashes with easy, everyday solutions.  Here are four ways you can ditch the falsies and still look foxy.

Curling your lashes opens your eyes and makes them seem bigger, friendlier, and sexier.  To get maximum results, warm your metal eyelash curler with a blowdryer.  Be careful not to make it hot ... the skin around the eye is delicate.   Curl your lashes in three places:   the base of your eyelashes; the middle; and the tips.  This will give you a gentle curve that looks more natural than one big bend.

Make lashes look more dense.  Place wand at the base of your lashes and gently wiggle the wand back and forth before you sweep on the first coat of mascara.  This trick gives the illusion of more lashes, giving drama to your eyes.

Find all your lashes.  That’s right -- most women miss many of their lashes, making their eyes look smaller.  Use the tip of the mascara wand to get those inner and outer corners of your eyes.  Both top and bottom lids have a dense grouping of lashes there that are almost invisible because they are lighter in colour and finer in texture than the rest of the eyelashes.  Spend time getting every one.  It’s worth it  -- especially when you see the cat-like, flirt-inspiring results.

Lengthen and thicken your lashes with thin, but multi, layers.  Many thin layers looks more natural than one or two thick ones.  To get thin layers, lightly blot the wand with kleenex before you apply the mascara.  Swipe your lashes from base to tips two times, letting them dry in between applications.  Coat one to two more times, but this time only on the last 1/4 of the length and on outer corner of eyelashes on the top lid.

Now you have it.   Great frames for your beautiful eyes and a flash of flirt with every blink.

Let us know what happens once you start drawing attention with these techniques.

How to Make Your Scent Last Longer

You have found your signature fragrance and now you can't live without it.  Only trouble is, sometimes it doesn't last as long as you would like.  Is it you or is it the fragrance?  Does the time of the year have any influence on perfume's staying power?  Is there a way to make it last longer?

sexual sugar eau de parfumThe answer to all of these questions is "yes".

A great, high end fragrance made with real essential oils should last an average of four hours, but that can change depending on your skin type and the notes in the fragrance.  If for instance you have naturally dry skin, your perfume will not last as long.  In fact, it could dissipate in as little as two hours.

Fresh, but not as long lasting
Likewise if you prefer light scents with citrus, and certain florals, they won't last as long as heavier scents steeped in musk, amber, or vanilla.  Both styles of fragrance are fantastic, but they have differing lifespans on the skin.

As surprising as it sounds, even the time of the year has a bearing on its staying power.  If it is hot or humid (as it often is in summer), your fragrance will keep emanating.  If it is cold and dry, it doesn't radiate as far or as much.

So, how do you make it last longer?  Moisturize.

Layer your fragrance with a body lotion or cream with the same scent as your perfume.  Don't just grab your everyday drugstore moisturizer.  As good as it may be, all moisturizers, even those marked "unscented" have their own inherent, naturally occurring scent.   None are completely odourless.   These scents will change your fragrance.

If you can't part with your moisturizer, try it under your fragrance, but let it dry first.  Letting it dry will allow your fragrance a better chance at doing its job.  If it smells o.k. to you, your moisturizer has passed the test.

Another tip:  make sure you have bought the highest concentration of fragrance.  An eau de parfum has a higher concentration than an eau de toilette.  The eau de parfum lasts longer on someone with dry skin.

Lastly, see if your fragrance comes in a travel or purse sized spray.  They are great for touch ups throughout the day.

Flirt Tips for Sexy Nights

No matter how great things are with your love life, its always fun to take it up a notch.  Spicing up the usual bedtime routine with your partner will keep it fresh and interesting, not only for him, but especially for you.  Once you get the ball rolling, who knows where he will take it?

Throw self-consciousness and self-doubt out the window.  A man really doesn’t notice cellulite or those extra pounds you have been trying to loose.  When he has an opportunity to do the bedroom tango with his loved one, his eyes gravitate to what’s turning him on – and that is you.

Satin peep toe pump accented with flowers at the toe from Boutique 9. 4 1/2" heel with 1/2" platform on luxe leather sole. Buy a pair of sexy stilettos.  Pick them just for their wow factor.  Reserve them for his eyes only, pairing them with your birthday suit.  They don’t have to be vampy.  Sexy and classic work even better.  Some ideas: peep toe pumps in red, pink, or animal print.  Don’t shop for their comfort factor.  You won’t be walking too many steps before he sweeps you off your feet to get closer to him.

If your partner says, “Your body is so beautiful” – believe him.  When a man compliments his loved one while doing the dance of intimacy, it’s usually a spontaneous observation of something that really arouses him.  Enjoy and revel in the fact that you are hot.

Feel great in pretty lingerie
Treat yourself to that pretty lingerie you always wished you had in your wardrobe.  Wear it to work, shopping, e.t.c..  When you get ready for bed, make sure he sees you undress in a slow, deliberately sexy manner.  He’ll feel flattered and enjoy the thoughtful surprise while all day you’ll be anticipating a great end to your evening.

Massage oil tempts & teases
Give your guy a sexy, intimate rub down with some massage oil … but only on the condition he’ll give you one.  He’s guaranteed to say yes.  Don’t worry too much about technique. Practically any touch feels good when it’s smoothed with oil.  Try long, slow strokes or circular motions.  Just remember to warm the oil by rubbing it in your hands first.

Make Your Fragrance Flirt for You

The sense of smell is one of the world's strongest memory-makers.  Just think of the smells you know well.  Every time you smell popcorn, don't you automatically think of movies?  Hot cocoa reminds many people of cold winter nights?  What about eggnog?  Does that remind you of Christmas?

What if you could harness this memory-making power and use it to your advantage?  Wouldn't it be great if every time your guy smelled a certain scent, he would be reminded of how sexy you are or how much he missed you?

Here is a list of ideas to start you on you way to building a scent memory in your guy's mind.  Use them as inspiration for more ideas.  You will drive him wild.

He'll love smelling your perfume as he dries off after a shower.

1.  Spray a little of your fragrance 1 foot above his bathroom towel.  The scent will diffuse on the towel.  As he uses it to rub his body dry after a shower, he'll be thinking of yours.  Sexy.

2.  Play a perfume game with him.  Spray fragrance on different parts of your body.  Be creative.  Get him to find where it is.  As he gently caresses you with his nose, watch the sparks fly and the memories being created.

3.  Leave your scarf in his car.  The scent that has rubbed off on it from when you wore it will keep him thinking of you until he has a chance to give it back.

4.   Before you leave his place in the morning, scent his bedroom with your fragrance.  It will remind him again and again of the great time he had with you.

Fragrance Care 101

Just like fine wine or a bouquet of flowers, perfume has its own wish for some tender loving care to make it last longer.Luckily, it is easy to give perfume what it needs so it will keep you smelling gorgeous.

Keep your fragrance away from the sun. The sun’s heat and light damages the delicate oils in fragrance. Leaving it on your vanity is fine, but not if it’s by a window where the sun streams down on the bottle.

Consider keeping your fragrance in its original carton. Often a fragrance’s carton is almost as pretty as the bottle it protects. If it can help protect and extend the life of the fragrance you love just a little longer, its worth denying yourself the beauty of the bottle for a while. Once the box starts to show a little wear, toss it and enjoy the bottle.

Keeping perfume in the bathroom is o.k. only if you’re not one for long, steamy hot showers. The heat from the steam, just like the heat from the sun, damages the fragrance’s natural oils. The warmer fragrance gets, the faster it ages.

Buy fragrances that are in spray bottles. Spray bottles don’t allow air to mix with the fragrance. Exposure to air evaporates fragrance quickly and, like sunlight and heat, alters its scent. If you buy fragrance in any other form (splash or roll-on), keep the cap tightly sealed to minimize the effect of air.

Indulge in it everyday. Although your fragrance may be your most treasured item in your wardrobe, use it up. Fragrance keeps its original scent for about 6 months at room temperature. Any longer and you may notice it start to change. It will still smell good, but not as true to the scent you originally fell in love with. You’ll be wearing the “vintage” version of your favourite scent.
