4 Ways To Improve and Affair Proof Your Marriage

Marriage is one of life's oxymorons. It can be beautiful and fun if nurtured, but ugly and grueling if ignored. If you are married and love your husband, life and marriage, take steps to ensure that you are making every effort possible towards a fun, happy and stable marriage. You deserve a great marriage. Here are four ways to nurture your marriage, improve your marriage, and affair proof your marriage!
1. If you want to have a great husband, be a great wife. Lead by example. Put 100 percent into your marriage every day. Ask yourself, "How can I make my marriage better today?" If you want your husband to be your good friend, be a good friend to him. If you want him to be loyal, show him by modelling that behavior yourself. Call him at work to tell him you love him; give him a hug when you know he is having a tough day; and don't flirt with others.  Reserve the flirting for him & him only.
2. Be his friend. You've got that covered, right? Maybe it's time to make sure you do. When was the last time you had a date night together? Have you taken a vacation alone for 2 or more nights in the last year? Have you turned off the television and asked how he was? Being a friend in a marriage means more than sharing a house or children together. It means listening to and spending time with your spouse. Give him that time. He will love you all the more.
3. Be his sexual fantasy. Actually, you've pretty much got this one covered. He would not have married you otherwise. We all put on a few pounds over the years and we tend to grow a few grey hairs. But, men really don't notice this stuff as much as we do. All a husband ultimately wants is to be intimate with his wife. It is a way to show his wife how much he cares. Also, it allows him to feel connected to you on a deeper level.
Why not encourage this connection? Wear your favorite fragrance. Prepare a great bubble bath for twoFlirt with him and make him feel the rush of knowing someone thinks he is sexy and hot. Before you know it, you will be feeling sexy and hot too.

How To Buy Lingerie That She Will Love (And Wear Again And Again)

After fragrance, lingerie is the second most popular gift for Christmas.
Women love to receive gifts of luxury for Christmas.  After all, if they need a blender or vacuum, it's considered a necessity and they can buy what they need without guilt at any time of the year.

But fragrance and lingerie seems to whisper, "I love you" the moment she opens the package.  They are decadent gifts that she may not so readily indulge in for herself.

Here is part 1 of 2:  a guide for men on how to buy lingerie.  Part 2 on buying fragrance is coming in the near future.

Buying lingerie for your lady is intimidating for two reasons.  The first one is obvious -- it can be uncomfortable to walk into what seems like a ladies’ only store.  Lingerie stores are often pink, frilly places with only lady customers inside being served by (usually) youngish women.

The second reason buying lingerie for her is intimidating?  Lingerie you have purchased in the past has often ended up collecting dust in a drawer.

In reality, there is no need to fear the idea of walking into a lingerie store.  The sales ladies are used to helping men find something perfect for their special someone.  You may be the only male in the store at that moment, but lingerie sales peak before holidays such as Christmas and Valentine’s mainly because of thoughtful guys like you -- guys who are trying to do something nice for the woman they love. In fact, men make 20% of all lingerie purchases throughout the year.

So how do you buy lingerie that makes her feel both comfortable and beautiful?

It’s not as hard as it sounds.  A little research will get you (and ultimately her) what she really wants.

Start by looking in her closet.  What size is she?  Write down the sizes for her current lingerie, bras, dress pants or jeans, and tops.  This information will immensely help the sales lady find the correct size and shorten your shopping time. (Don’t make the classic mistake of eyeing the sales women and telling her your wife is about her size or just a little bigger.  There are a lot of sizes out there and being off by one or two makes the outfit unwearable.)

Go for something comfortable.  No one wants to wear scratchy, itchy fabric against their skin -- not even, as hard as this may be to comprehend, not even if it means a guaranteed night of bliss with you.  Rub the fabric against your inner wrist (this part of your skin is sensitive so it will give you a good reading).  If it’s scratchy, move on.

Yes, yes, we know comfort usually means flannel or some other matronly fabric.  Not exactly a turn on.  However, believe it or not, there are some sexy, beautiful pieces that feel great on.  You just have to spend a little extra time looking for them and make sure you are politely firm with the sales lady when you make this a requirement.  Remember, you want your lady to actually wear the lingerie, correct?

Look for something she will feel beautiful wearing.  If she feels beautiful, she’ll automatically feel sexy and you have got what you want, one happy, sexy woman.  To do this, refer back to what you saw in her closet.  What does she usually buy for herself now?  Take it one or two steps beyond.  Any more and she may not have the courage to put it on.  For instance, if she only wears plain cotton bras and panties, go for something close to that style, but with a beautiful colour, flirty ruffle, and/or a sexy animal print pattern.  Avoid anything with strategic cut outs in both the bra and panties.  You get the point.

Lingerie is a special, intimate gift that says, “I love you and think you are beautiful.”  Make sure you do the research first so you feel more comfortable while you are shopping and she feels comfortable, flattered, and very sexy when she’s wearing it.

Kiss Him Over And Over And Over Again

Your flirting, relationship, and dating smarts are just about to skyrocket.  Use our tips on your flirt target.  If you are married, do it with your spouse.  (S)he'll love you for it:

What is there not to love about kissing? No one needs incentive to kiss (it's so seductive and fun) but here are more reasons to kiss and kiss more (especially if you are in a long-term relationship).

Kissing for one minute burns about 10-26 calories.  In this day and age of the health and fitness conscious, who doesn't love calorie burning activities.  The calories burned depends on how burning (or how into it) you are when your lips are locked.  The hotter the passion the better.  So go for it.

Couples in long-term relationships often take each other for granted.  Although our partners mean the world to us, sometimes we can get bogged down in the everyday pressures of life and may ignore their sexy side.  How and why this happens can be a mystery to us.  How can someone we thought to be the sexiest person walking on the face of the earth slowly turn into more of a friend than a lover?

Actually, this stage of a relationship is normal.  When two people are in a long-term relationship, living life side by side and facing the challenges it brings, they are bound to become comfortable with each other.  This level of comfort is a good thing.  The trick is to keep (or get) the sexy back.  Here's how:

Traits Women Look for in a Man

Talking with my girlfriends this past weekend, we lounged on comfy, over-stuffed sofas while we sipped on our favourite wines.  Some of them were married, most of them were single, all of them were strong, gorgeous females. As usual, the topic of men came up.  (When doesn't it when you put more than two women and two glasses of wine together?)  I asked just what they look for in a man and this is what they listed:

1.  A Love of Having Fun.   Women love to enjoy life and who better to do it with than the men they are dating or married to? They want their men to be able to join them in a romp of adventure, doing things they normally wouldn't do on their own.  If a man isn't willing to participate in enjoying all that life has to offer, he could be a bore, and no one wants to hang out with a bore (especially through years of marriage - yawn).

2.  Be a Rock.  Don't let her down when she needs support or someone to be a soundboard.  She may not necessarily look to you to solve her problems, but she will need someone to listen to her as she tries to sort out solutions, or just to let her vent.

3.  Be Chivalrous.  No, as much as some guys try to kill it, chivalry is not dead.  Women (at least the ones who are ladies) are still wowed by guys who pull out their chairs at restaurants, open the door for them and insist they go first, and offer to pay for the first date.  Some girls may settle for the knuckle-dragging neanderthal, but not real women.

4.  Be Self-Assured.  Life is tough enough without having to constantly reassure a boyfriend or husband.  We're not talking about supporting a man that is temporarily going through a setback or disappointment. (Couples are supposed to support each other through tough times).  We're talking about being confident enough to set goals and go after them with passion.  In other words, have goals, go after them, and don't be intimidated when she goes after hers.

5.  Love Her Like You Have Never Loved Anyone Before.  O.k., o.k., so we all know we aren't your first, but we want to feel we are your "only".  The only one you wanted to be with both day and night (every day and night).  The only one who was hot and smart.  The only one who kissed you like that.  The only one who made you feel that feeling, the feeling you get from the core of your being that says, "I'm never going to let her go."

As the night went on, and the wine flowed, my girlfriends had more and more revelations as to what turned them on in a man.  But those revelations are for another day ... .

How to Keep the Romance in Your Marriage

The other day I was talking about marriage with my close friend over a cup of tea.  She told me that she and her friends didn't need any flirting or dating advice because they were already married.  If I was a stick figure cartoon character, you would have seen 50 question and exclamation points instantly pop up, dancing over my head.

Being married isn't the "get into jail free; don't make passes; don't collect 200 kisses" card.  Marriage is the most important time to flirt, date, and invest time getting fresh ideas so your relationship doesn't go stale.  After all, if you can't flirt or date with your spouse, the most important person in your life, who will you ever do it with?

Newlyweds flirt and date with each other. (How fun!)  But somewhere along the way, many people forget to keep this part of their relationship healthy.

Yes, most people are deeply in love with their spouses, but with an ever-growing list of demands on their time, they forget to initiate (or avoid responding to) romance.  Both men and women often spend all day working; tending to their children's needs (if they have children); and fulfilling their daily responsibilities.  By the end of the day, their energy is sapped.  They often defer their most important responsibility -- their marriage.

A marriage isn't an after-thought.  It should be the first thought.  Just because a couple has been together many years and share most every intimate detail of their lives and being, it doesn't excuse them from exploring each other and continuing to fall in love with each other even more.

Being over-tired and lacking energy isn't an excuse either.  Tired or not, office meetings, coffee with friends, and daily routines still happen.  Tired or not, taking care of the one you love still has to happen.

Married couples need to make a concerted effort to spend time together (alone ... no kids, no group dates, e.t.c.) to keep the romance alive.  It has to be scheduled, just as they would a doctor's appointment, a trip to the gym, or a business meeting.  (This meeting, however, would end up being a lot more fun.)  If it isn't scheduled, it won't happen.

Wives and husbands need time to see each other as individuals.  No one can do this unless they are able to be alone together at some point (snoring together doesn't count).

I, for one, refuse to allow my husband and I to become glorified roommates.  After years of marriage and continuing to raise three busy boys together, I love being so comfortable with him that I know he is my best friend.  But I forever want him to be my best friend with benefits.
