Fun Date Ideas

A Hike with Sights Like this Inspire Togetherness

Thinking about going on a date is always exciting, but making sure the date itself is fantastic enough that she/he will want to do it again takes some planning.

Sure, there are the old stand-by's: going to a movie or a restaurant, and drinks afterwards is a safe idea, but what if you already had that date and you are looking for something that offers a little more fun. After all, the more fun the date is, the more you will bond, and the more likely another date will happen.

Here is a list of 3 things to do that will get you talking, smiling, and maybe even ... . Well, I'll leave that up to your imagination.

1. Take a hike. Every city has some hiking trails within driving distance. Do a little research, find out where some interesting trails are and start walking.

Jazz it up with a picnic lunch or snack, including some wine or a bit of bubbly champagne to make it lavish. Some other items you may want: gourmet sandwiches and salads from the local specialty deli; and homemade chocolates from your favorite dessert place. Choose food that you rarely get to eat to make it a real taste adventure. Be creative. Pack it all in a backback so you will still be able to hold your date's hand.

Be prepared for all kinds of weather. A picnic in the rain could be romantic if you have a raincoat, rain boots, and a waterproof blanket to sit on. Even if you live where it's snowing, this date can really be special. Just make sure you pack a couple of blankets to sit on and cover your legs with as you eat. (Maybe even trade the champagne for hot chocolate laced with Bailey's Irish Cream. Yum.)

2. Participate in an interesting class together. Taking a scuba diving class, a snowboard, tennis or a horseback riding lesson. Sure, it takes a bit of courage to show your true, sometimes inexperienced self to a new love-interest, but if you pick something he/she has never done before either, you will both be in the same boat.

The trade-off for some mutual embarrassment: a real bonding experience. When you both attempt something you both have never done before you feel like a team while you are doing it. After the class, you will have something in common to talk about, which will keep that team spirit going.

3. Go on a balloon ride. The thrill is guaranteed to make you both smile and bond together in an exhilarating experience. This type of bonding, over a thrilling event, will make both of you feel closer to one another. This date also builds that team spirit. You will both have something to talk about for days afterwards.
